All oversized loads entering the City of Clayton shall submit the following documentation: the trucking firm’s Caltrans permit, a certificate of insurance reflecting their automobile coverage, the direction and route of travel through town, and the day(s) and time(s) of travel.

The City of Clayton does not issue or charge for oversized load permits; however all aforementioned documentation shall be submitted for review.

Please submit the required information via email to the City Engineer at cityengineer@ci.clayton.ca.us at least 48 hours prior to the expected date and time of travel. Please provide the following contact information: company name, address, telephone number and the contact person’s name, email address, and mobile phone or direct line.

NOTE: Oversized loads are prohibited from traveling through the City of Clayton in a north/westbound direction between the hours of 6:00 a.m. and 9:00 a.m. and in a south/eastbound direction between the hours of 3:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m.
