Jeremy Crone, City of Clayton’s new Police Chief

[Clayton, CA] – The City of Clayton is pleased to announce the appointment of Jeremy Crone as the new Police Chief, effective June 23, 2025. With over 20 years of law enforcement experience, Chief Crone brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise to our community.

Chief Crone has dedicated his career to public safety, having previously served in various significant roles at the City of Pinole and the City of Suisun City. Most recently, he held the position of Commander in the City of Pinole, where he demonstrated exceptional leadership skills and a commitment to community engagement.

“I am honored to serve as the Police Chief of the City of Clayton,” said Chief Crone. “I look forward to building strong relationships within our community and fostering a collaborative environment to ensure the safety and well-being of all residents.” Chief Crone holds degrees from Northwestern University, American Public University and his POST certification from the Napa Police Academy, as well as various other qualifications, awards, and notable achievements that further highlight his commitment to excellence in law enforcement.

He brings a wealth of experience in police management, but what impressed me most was his unwavering commitment to community engagement. I am truly excited about the opportunity to work alongside someone who exemplifies integrity and exceptional leadership.”

The City of Clayton looks forward to the positive changes and innovative approaches Chief Crone will bring in addressing the needs of our community. A swearing-in ceremony will be held on June 17th at the City Council meeting held at the Community Library, Hoyer Hall, Clayton, CA 94517 to introduce Chief Crone to the community.
