Contra Costa Clean Water Program
The City of Clayton is a member of the Contra Costa County Clean Water Program (CCCWP), a program dedicated to maintaining a healthy environment in Contra Costa’s beautiful creeks, rivers, the Delta, and the Bay by striving to eliminate stormwater pollution through public education, inspection, enforcement, and industrial outreach.
New Development
Provision C.3 in the Municipal Regional Permit requires site designs for new developments and redevelopments to minimize the area of new roofs and paving and reduce runoff. Where feasible, pervious surfaces should be used instead of paving so that runoff can infiltrate to underlying soil. Remaining runoff from impervious areas must be treated using bioretention. In some developments, the rates and durations of site runoff must also be controlled. See the resources below for additional information on stormwater
